So for the next half of the day. . . . I left Christ church and ran into an American family who work for the International House of Prayer out of Kansas City and they invited me to go to the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem). It was truly a very moving experience. You walk around in an organized maze from room to room and they have videos, information walls, pictures, and remnants from that time and it gives a very detailed description of World War II and the plight of the Jews during that time. The only thing that kept going through my head was "how in the world did this happen?" It was very moving and sobering, especially as I walked side by side with all types of Jews: orthodox, American, European, and secular and to think that these are the people that were so hated and would have been killed during that time just for being Jewish.
Needless to say. . . it was quite an experience I will never forget.
So afterwards I caught a taxi and went back to my neck of the woods to get a bite to eat and ran into a journalist from CBN, named John Waage, who is their Middle East corrrespondent and had a great conversation about the political environment here in Israel.
